The Chunky verses the Delicate.
Oh yes, the great debate of the delicate, fine pieces of jewellery verses the chunky 'stand out in the crowd' jewellery. So, which one are you?
Sometimes its just a matter of mood, weather or destination, however often it can also be a personality thing. For me, I go through my phases. At the moment however, I tend to be leaning towards the more delicate pieces. Very fine gold wire work, teamed with small precious stones and that feeling of femininity...the type of jewellery you just don't take off. So, this is what my upcoming range in 14ct Gold is all about, and I'm very excited to launch it shortly. 14ct Gold has been great to work with so far. It still tends to be a new concept in Australian, however in America and Europe its going off! It also means that we can purchase those special pieces without needing to layby for a whole year.
Now back to the debate. Sometimes we get inundated with those 'look at me' pieces, and as amazing as some of them can be, (the more unique and designer the better), often it can just become a competition on who can make the biggest piece. Unfortunately the quality suffers as a result. Hands up who else is sick of Mimco and Diva...
If you are a chunky jewellery girl at heart, then choose pieces that have personality and design element ... not just massed production written all over them. With these girls in mind I'm also in the process of putting together the final touches of my new Leather and Sterling Silver range. We've got lots of colour and boldness going on, perfect for those long summer days and balmy nights, and adequately named "Leather Days". No pics yet but they're on their way!!
So, in conclusion....wear jewellery that you feel is you, and don't be afraid to go big or small!
